Why continuing an education is so important to her:
"I would like to have the opportunity to have a career that I enjoy, and that can provide me with a better future. In addition, I am a first-generation student and the first person in my family to pursue higher education. Furthermore, I want to become a school psychologist that encourages other minority and first-generation students to pursue higher education. Lastly, education is important because it allows me to expand my worldview and learn how I can help society improve."

Alejandra, what does the term “Golden Women” mean to you?
“The term "Golden Women" is a women who is strong, empathetic, and confident. A women who strives to help others when needed and empowers others by motivating them to do their best. A "Golden Women" is a women who is able to push forward and rise through all hardships that she may encounter.”
Alejandra, describe something that is plaguing young women today and explain what can be done to turn it around? What can you do to help?
“One thing that is plaguing young women the media's negative portrayal of women and minorities. It is disheartening to see how women continue to be negatively portrayed in the media. I would like to continue to be a role model for women and teenagers for them to look up to. I would also like to continue to run girls counseling groups in the school setting to teach young women about the importance of being a women, and not to believe the negative portrayal of us in the media.”
